As I write this, it’s October 5th and the weather is as cool as a cucumber. Here in Virginia, everyone is a buzz because the humidity has disappeared and the cooler temps have arrived. It’s the moment we have been waiting for since last March. Praise be!

In the first years of homeschooling, I was told that every good homeschooler *must* teach poetry to their children. Of course, I obeyed. And while I don’t necessarily have my children memorize a new poem each month like those super amazing home educators, I still do from time to time, and some of those selections really stick with us. Each October I remember one of the first poems our girls memorized. It’s so sweet and simple. Perhaps you’ll want to use it in your own home….
