I was just thinking this morning about how I feel like I’ve lived an entire year in just the last 13 days. Does it feel that way to you? So many things are happening on the world’s stage - a veritable revolving door of new headlines, things to absorb, and new concerns to address. Lately, I’ve been pondering the idea of “control.” The older I get, the more comfortable I am with the understanding that I have very little of it, but in times of upheaval (such as the present moment in our world), it can feel pretty daunting, not knowing what will come next. That being said, I find solace in a great number of blessings and two in particular are: my Christian faith and literature. Books are balm for the soul - a needed retreat in times of trouble. I hope you’re reading something life-giving right now. We all need what books so graciously offer.
